Art Therapy Interns

Alton Community  Unit School District has maintained a positive working relationship with the Art Therapy Counseling Masters Degree program at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville since the District's school-based art therapy program was started. 

 

Most school years the district has benefited from having one or two art therapy interns who provide art therapy services under the supervision of the district art therapists and the university's professional staff.  With parental/guardian consent, students selected to work with the interns are provided full art therapy services for the duration of that school year.

The 2020-2021 Alton School District Art Therapy intern:

Ms. Haruka Kawata-Inglish - Art Therapy Intern for selected students at Alton Elementary, Middle, and High School, 

Ms. Yolanda Vidal -  Art Therapy Intern for selected students at Mark Twain School.

The 2019-2020 Alton School District Art Therapy intern:

Ms. Kaila Groebe - Art Therapy Intern for selected students at Alton Elementary, Middle, and High School. 

Mrs. Heather Conley -  Art Therapy Intern for selected students at Mark Twain School.

The 2017-2018 Alton School District Art Therapy intern:

Ms. Kiersten Smith- Art Therapy Intern for selected students at West Elementary & Alton Middle School 

Ms. Katie Turek-  Art Therapy Intern for selected students at Alton High School.
